Skin Treatments

For over 18 years Australian Laser & Skin Clinics has provided safe and effective skin enhancing solutions, including laser skin rejuvenation treatments. Our staff is comprised of certified nurses and medically trained professionals who perform treatments that are designed to improve aesthetic appearance, treat medical conditions, and maintain a healthy, natural-looking complexion.

We provide an initial complimentary consultation for all procedures, where we establish a suitable treatment plan customised to your individual needs and circumstances. All procedures, have been proven in both safety and efficiency, and are conducted within our state-of-the-art Melbourne clinics.

The benefit of choosing a clinic over a salon

There are many providers around Melbourne and around Australia that offer low level laser therapy; salons and beauticians among the most prominent. With so many options available, it’s important to make the right choice in order to get the very best results. That’s why we believe that it’s is always best to opt for a clinic over a standard salon for any treatment procedure.

It’s important to be aware that it is not legally required for low level laser therapy providers to have medical training; in some cases, salon workers might receive only on-the-job training. By contrast, we provide a medical grade clinic medically trained and accredited staff.

If you’re considering treatment for a common problem, come and visit us and discover just why we’re the preferred option for many patients. With six clinic locations around Melbourne, come and speak to our experienced professionals today.

Common Skin Problems And Solutions For Rejuvenation

The Problem – Rosacea, Acne Scarring, Enlarged Pores and Sun Damage

Skin that reddens easily can have a drastic effect on confidence levels, particularly when it occurs on the face. Acne scarring, pigmentation and enlarged pores can also pose a problem. As well there are a host of issues that can arise from excessive exposure to the sun, such as broken capillaries and freckles. Luckily, our clinics offers a range of solutions to address these problems.

The Solutions – Laser Facial

Laser facials are non-invasive and relatively painless, and are ideal for treating a wide range of skin concerns, particularly problems with texture and tone. Each laser facial involves exposing an area to laser energy, penetrating deeply to stimulate natural collagen production and reduce the appearance of imperfections. After analysing your individual skin type and concern, our expert clinicians will decide the best frequency of treatment, with each session taking no longer than 15 minutes to complete.

Low Level Laser Therapy (LLLT)

Low level laser therapy, otherwise known as LLLT, uses a low level laser to stimulate, regulate and when necessary accelerate cell function, reducing skin concerns and restoring and improving damaged tissue. Using a gentle beam of light, LLLT promotes regeneration and stimulates collagen and elastin growth, resulting in a reduction in swelling and redness. Suitability and the number of required sessions are dependent on individual circumstances, and will be decided during an initial consultation.

Photo Laser Skin Rejuvenation

Photo rejuvenation involves medical-grade Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) technology, which uses targeted light to stimulate the body’s natural healing process and reduce the appearance of most forms of pigmentation. Your body is left smoother and more evenly toned, with visible and long-lasting improvements seen after each treatment. While photo rejuvenation is not effective for all skin types, we will determine your suitability for the treatment in our initial consultation.

Skin Needling

Skin needling, also known as Collagen Induction Therapy (CIT), involves creating microscopic punctures in the skin with a special rolling device. This stimulates the body’s natural wound healing response beneath the skin, resulting in the production and distribution of rejuvenating collagen. An improvement in skin tone and texture is seen within six to eight weeks, with a noticeable reduction in scars and fine lines.

Chemical Peel

Chemical peels can safely treat a range of skin conditions on the face and body, with unique solutions that can be tailored to your specific skin concerns. Ranging from superficial to medium depth, each peel works in a number of ways to stimulate cell renewal, which refines, hydrates and rejuvenates the skin. Our clinic offers a wide range of chemical peels suited to different skin types. During an initial consultation, we’ll determine the most appropriate combination of chemicals for your skin, ensuring effective results.

The Problem – Acne, Blackheads, Whiteheads, Enlarged Pores and Skin Texture

These common complaints can be caused by a variety of factors such as hormones, excessive oiliness, blockages in the pores, certain medications and stress. People experiencing these conditions may feel self-conscious and attempt to cover their skin with make-up, which can often make the problem worse. Acne can also leave scarring, further affecting confidence levels.

The Solution – Microdermabrasion

Microdermabrasion is a quick, non-invasive skin treatment that uses micro massage to remove layers of dead or damaged cells. Results are generally seen after just one session; however, multiple sessions may be required to address certain concerns. The treatment is performed using a special hand-held wand, with an exfoliating diamond tip that picks up dead surface skin cells as it passes along the skin. This has the result of unclogging pores, removing dry skin and refining skin texture. All microdermabrasion treatments at our clinics begin with a thorough consultation, allowing us to come up with a treatment plan that’s tailored specifically to your needs.

The Problem – Frown Lines and Wrinkles

It’s completely natural for frown lines and wrinkles to become more pronounced as a person ages. However, some people experience these more severely than others due to not taking necessary precautions when younger, such as avoiding sun exposure and using a daily facial moisturiser. Fortunately, a solution to minimise these problems exists, and is used safely around the world.

The Solutions – Wrinkle Injections

Wrinkle injections are a safe and effective method of reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. The treatment involves a muscle relaxant injected directly into the problem area, resulting in a smooth, refreshed and youthful look. Prior to the treatment, we will conduct a thorough consultation, confirming the treatment is suitable and ensuring the right areas are targeted.

PRP Injections

Platelet Rich Plasma injections (or PRP) are an effective and safe treatment for reducing fine lines and wrinkles. PRP uses the patient’s own blood to introduce platelets into problem areas. Plasma in blood is naturally rich in platelets, which introduces powerful growth factors and natural stem cells into the skin when injected. Not only will this treatment significantly stimulate regeneration and restructuring of the skin tissue, it will also increase cellular turnover and collagen production to produce youthful, supple skin.

PRP treatment is ideal for treating mild scarring, acne scarring, uneven or dull skin tone and ageing related skin damage with a minimum of three treatments required to achieve results.

The Problem – Thin Lips and Fine Lines

Thin lips and fine lines are increasingly common as the face naturally ages. Both the top and bottom lips can appear thinner, while fine lines, particularly around the eye area, can detract from other features. These problems have caused many to waste money on ineffective creams and lotions that have very little effect.

The Solution – Dermal Fillers

Dermal fillers can be injected into the face to provide instant volume, ideal for smoothing wrinkles, enhancing lips and restoring your youthful appearance of the skin. With a quick and easy procedure, and long-lasting effectiveness, dermal fillers have become a popular choice to fill in thin lips and reduce the appearance of fine lines, making skin firmer and more contoured. Each treatment is tailored to the specific needs of the client, with targeted areas determined in a prior consultation.

Other Treatments

The laser skin treatments offered at our clinics don’t just stop at skin – they also extend to other areas and conditions, including the following.

The Problem – Unwanted Hair

Unwanted hair is a common problem, with many struggling to remove or hide excess body hair. Whether it’s on the arms, legs, chest, back, armpits or face, unwanted hair can adversely affect confidence levels, resulting in a desire to cover up. While methods of hair removal such as waxing and shaving can be used, these last only a short period of time before hair grows back. Fortunately, a lasting solution that provides effective results is available.

The Solution – Laser Hair Removal

Laser hair removal is clinically proven to destroy hair follicles at the root, preventing growth. Using a medical-grade laser, each unwanted hair is directly targeted, causing it to absorb light and heat energy that disrupts the growth mechanism. While laser hair removal is unsuitable for some skin types, we can determine your suitability in a consultation prior to treatment. All laser skin treatments are safe and conducted in a clean and hygienic treatment room, with each session customised to your specific needs to maximise effectiveness.

The Problem – Unwanted Tattoos

While tattoos are a popular method of skin art and self-expression, there are many who later regret them, seeing them as impractical, inappropriate or no longer relevant. Tattoos have long been seen as a permanent modification, etched into your skin where they can’t easily be removed. Fortunately, we offer a simple solution that’s both safe and effective.

The Solution – Laser Tattoo Removal

Laser tattoo removal is an effective method to drastically reduce the appearance of tattoos. Using medical grade lasers, the ink molecules in the tattooed skin are targeted and broken down, allowing them to be naturally flushed out of the body. This process results in up to 80% removal of the unwanted tattoo after six to twelve laser skin treatments. While not all tattoos are suitable for removal, this can be determined in our initial assessment and consultation.

The Problem – Stained Teeth

First impressions are important, and often the first thing that’s noticed about your appearance is your smile. If you have stained teeth, you may cover your mouth with your hand while talking, or even be reluctant to show your teeth when you smile. Teeth can become discoloured and yellowed through a number of ways, including smoking and heavy consumption of coffee and tea. Unfortunately, removing the cause often does not remove the damage already done.

The Solution – Teeth Whitening

Professional LED teeth whitening is an effective treatment to bleach stains out of teeth, restoring them to their natural pearly-white colour. The process involves the application of a gel containing a strong bleaching agent. This then penetrates deeply through the tooth enamel, assisted by our special Cool Light system that activates photo receptors. Results are visible immediately afterwards, though extremely discoloured teeth may require multiple laser skin treatments. The extent of discolouration will be assessed during a prior consultation, where we’ll determine the recommended number of treatments needed.

The Problem – Warts, Skin Tags, Benign Moles, Sun Spots, Cherry Angiomas

Imperfections in the skin such as skin tags, moles, sun spots, warts and cherry angiomas are common in both men and women. Although these lesions are mostly harmless, they can be unsightly, causing embarrassment and affecting your self-esteem. Thankfully, our clinics can provide an effecting and lasting solution.

The Solution – Cryotherapy

Dermapen™ Cryotherapy offers a quick, effective and painless treatment for unwanted lesions on both the face and body. It precisely targets the problem area and delivers a fine, ultra-cold mist of nitrous oxide gas to freeze intercellular fluid, allowing for a rapid removal of the lesion. To achieve a deeper the absorption and active penetration, the mist must be sprayed onto the lesion for a longer duration.

As Cryotherapy delivers a precise application, the skin around the lesion remains unaffected, making it ideal to perform around sensitive areas such as the eyes. Most lesions require only one session to achieve effective and long lasting treatment; however in some cases lesions may require a second spray 2 – 3 after the initial session.
