Skin Needling for the Face and Body
Are you at a loss trying to find a treatment for acne scarring, fine lines and wrinkles, sun-damaged skin, scars, stretch marks, uneven skin tone, pigmentation and enlarged pores?
At the Australian Laser and Skin clinic we offer Skin Needling which is the perfect solution to all of the above concerns. Skin Needling can be used to effectively achieve a fresh and rejuvenated appearance in as little as three treatments.
Skin Needling is a procedure that has been performed for a number of years and used in a variety of methods has helped many of our clients with their skin concerns on various parts of the body. Skin Needling is fast becoming popular as it can be performed on the face, hands, chest, neck, back and legs.
Skin Needling penetrates deeply into the underlying layers of skin triggering the body’s natural wound healing response within the skin, producing and distributing new collagen in the area the requires treatment.
Skin Needling is based on acupuncture and involves a skin roller being pressed over the area being treated numerous times to induce thousands of microscopic puncture wounds to the skin. The Skin Needling procedure uses multiple needles that differ in size depending on the concern being treated. These needles pierce the skin creating tiny puncture wounds. These wounds encourage the production and distribution of new collagen that will progressively build healthy, thicker and firmer skin in the scar, stretch mark, or wrinkles being treated making them less noticeable and in some cases disappearing altogether.
As abrasive as Skin Needling sounds, The Australian Laser and Skin Clinic provide our clients with an anesthetic cream which is applied 30 minutes to an hour before treatment (depending on the area being treated) to minimize discomfort. The only sensation you should feel from Skin Needling is some pressure as the roller is being pressed against the skin.
There is minimal downtime once Skin Needling is performed. Our clients will experience mild to moderate redness, swelling and sensitivity that can last 12 to 48 hours and the skin will start to feel dry and tight. In some Skin Needling cases slight bruising may occur that can last up to 2-3 days. This is normal as the areas have had pressure applied to them.
A few days after the Skin Needling session your skin will start to flake and/or peel, this is normal as the dead skin cells are making way for new ones. Your skin will have a healthy, fresh glow and will feel soft, smooth and appear more even.
A few weeks after your Skin Needling treatment you’ll start to notice a vast improvement in skin tone and texture and after a few months it will improve even more. After you continue with a few more Skin Needling treatments, whatever your skin concern, you’ll notice a reduction in fine lines, smoother skin texture, improved skin tone, reduction of scars and an improved stretch mark texture.
