ABOUT THE TREATMENT – DERMAL FILLERS

HYALURONIC ACID

The skins ability to counter the effects of time, wind, weather and environmental stresses owes much to hyaluronic acid. It naturally exists in all life and its most important function is to bind water and to lubricate movable parts of the body, such as joints and muscles. Hyaluronic acid is a polysaccharide that is identical in all species and tissues.
So far more than twenty seven million people all over the world have been treated with hyaluronic acid based products, even biodegradable implants are usually composed of hyaluronic acid.

THE DERMAL FILLER TREATMENT

A very fine needle is used to inject small amounts of the product into the skin. After the injection, the gel binds with the water in your skin and gives natural volume to smooth wrinkles. The gel blends with adjoining tissues and allows other nutritive elements, like oxygen, glucose and hormones, to pass between fragments of the gel. As the cells are also able to pass between fragments of the gel, the result is natural and healthy looking skin.
Treatment should lead to full correction, but not over correction, at each treatment session. The treated area should be gently massaged to conform to the contour of the surrounding tissue.

One treatment session takes about thirty minutes and the results are immediate. It is normal to experience slight redness and swelling near the injection site. There may also be some slight pain or tenderness and some itching near the injection site. The skin returns to normal one to two days after skin treatments and up to a week for lip treatments.
